Please read through these posts so that you may learn which to use, and how to properly fill it out (these character sheets are based off of 3.5 Pathfinder, other versions may be accepted but seek approval from the one running the RP you wish to join). The character sheet you should use highly depends on what RP your joining. Unless stated in the RP's description, ask which Sheet would be best.

-Fresh Slate: This character sheet is for RP's where your character will be formed through the course of the RP, therefore you start "fresh" and must wait till later to use one of the other sheets to complete your character.

-Simple: For RP's focusing more on play through words. This sheet has the most basic elements for more freedom in an RP.

-Might: Might is a sheet with all magic related parts removed.

-Magic: Magic has all of the elements of might with a spell book so that you may write down which spells your character knows.

Here you will learn how to fill out your character sheet. I will use an example of an Elven Wizard(Created using core rule book). IMPORTANT this character will be automatically rejected it is purely for explanatory purposes. Also when submitting a character sheet please delete all the italicized words so that it is cleaner and easier to read.

Example:

^these are fairly straight forward your name and alignment your health is determined by you hitdice and constitution modifier (more later)
Race:Elf Favored Class:Wizard Level:Wizard 1 Size:M Gender:F BAB:+0
^race is your choice and size is determined by race, S size=-1 in the size boxes medium=0. each character may only have one favored class and it may be chosen at level one each level if that class gives you 1 bonus skill point or health point and it cannot be changed once decided but each level you can chose where that point will go. gender needs no explanation and BAB(Base Attack Bonus) is determined by class and level.
Sense:Low-Light Vision Speed:30ft Swim:5ft Climb:5ft Height:5'8" Weight:95lb Age:110
^sense is determined by race/various other means, speed is dependent on size and encumbrance creatures have 30 base speed but medium-heavy armor/loads lower your speed to 20, while swim/climb is 1/4 your base unless otherwise noted. height, weight, and age are dependent on race but still have some flexibility.
Language: Common, Elven, Celestial, Draconic, Gnome, Orc, and Sylvan.
^everyone knows common and most races start with additional languages in this case elven. but if your intelligence is high enough you are able to learn more (each point your modifier goes beyond 0 is one more language known.)
Stat: Str:10 Dex:12(+2) Con:12(-2) Int:20(+2) Wis:12 Cha:11
^stats are determined using a point-buy method to ensure fairness. all stats have a base of 10 and you are given 25 points to spend where you please but no stat may exceed 18 or drop below 8(excluding racial bonuses) at level 1. 11-13 costs 1 point each, 14-15 costs 2 points each 16-17 costs 3 points each and 18 is worth 4. example to get a stat of 18 you must spend 17/25 points leaving you with 7 for your other stats. to get more points you have to provide a weakness by lowering one or more stats to 8-9 increasing your points by 1or 2 depending on how far you lower. for real life imaging picture the stats as 8-9 below average, 10-11 average, 12-13 above average, 14-15 exceptional, 16-17 unnatural/genius, 18 unparalleled.
Stat Mod: Str:0 Dex:1 Con:1 Int:5 Wis:1 Cha:0

^modifiers are simple once you figure them out and are the base of most of your abilities. 8-9 -1, 10-11 0, 12-13 1, 14-15 2, 16-17 3, 18-19 4, 20 21 5, etc.
Defense:AC:11(10+0(Armor)+1(DexMod)+0(Dodge)+0(Size))
^this determines the chance something will physically hit you or can be used for how much damage you are able to resist per blow depending on how it is used.
Fort: 1(1(ConMod)+0(Class)) Ref: 1(1(DexMod)+0(Class)) Will: 3(1(WisMod)+2(Class))
^these are your other defences Fort=Fortitude defence against things afflicting your body, Ref=Reflex ability to avoid things, Will is your ability to resist mind affecting abilites.
Skill: Wizard:7((2(Class)+5(Int Mod))x1(level)+0(Favored))
    [-]Knowledge(Arcana):9(5(IntMod)+4(1+3Trained))
    [-]Knowledge(History):9(5(IntMod)+4(1+3Trained))
    [-]Knowledge(Nature):9(5(IntMod)+4(1+3Trained))
    [-]Knowledge(Nobility):9(5(IntMod)+4(1+3Trained))
    [-]Linguistics: 10(5(IntMod)+5(2+3Trained))
    [-]Perception: 3(1(WisMod)+2(Race))
    [-]Spellcraft: 9(5(IntMod)+4(1+3Trained))

^These are your skills, its not all just the ones you are trained in or otherwise have bonuses in just so that you can more readily tell which ones your better at.
Racial Trait:
    [-]Low-Light Vision
    [-]Elven Immunities: +2 racial saving bonus vs. enchantment spells and effects.
    [-]Elven Magic: +2 racial bonus on caster level checks vs. spell resistance. +2 racial bonus(Spellcraft) to identify magic item properties.
    [-]Keen Senses: +2 racial bonus(Perception).
    [-]Weapon Familiarity: Proficient with longbows, longswords, rapiers, and shortbows.

^racial traits says it all special perks of a particular race.
Class Trait:
    [-]Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Club, dagger, heavy crossbow, light crossbow, and quarterstaff.
    [-]Arcane Bond: Formed a powerful bond with a staff. Must wield the staff to cast spells.
    [-]Arcane School: Specialize in Illusion school. Bonus prepared slot each spell level for illusion spells. Gain: Extended Illusions, Blinding Ray. Two spell slots to prepare Necromancy/Evocation spells and -4 concentration to cast.
    [-]Extended Illusions: Illusion spells last 1(1/2Level) additional round after ending the effect.
    [-]Blinding Ray: Can be used 8/day. Causes target within 30ft to be blinded(DC15 Will Save).
    [-]Cantrips
    [-]Scribe Scroll: Gain Scribe Scroll as a bonus feat.
    [-]Spellbooks: A wizard must study their spellbook each day to prepare spells, unless no change. They cannot prepare any spell not recorded in the spellbook. Any new spells learned are added to the spellbook.

^another simple one traits offered by your class
Feat:
    [-]Scribe Scroll: Create magic scrolls.
    [-]Eschew Materials: Cast spells without material components.

^level one and every even level there after you are able to select a feat some races/classes give you more choices or bonus feats(bonus=free) you are able to select from a large list which one you want so long as you meet the prerequisite.
Wizard Spell List:(Prepare/Use)
^spells this here gets tricky but only needed on magic classes. every magic class is able to learn a certain # of spells per level and if their special stat (in wizards case intelligence) is high enough they can learn/use more(some classes do not learn more with a high stat but are able to use those spells more). the DC of you spell is how hard it is to resist normally going against someones fort, ref, or will added to a d20 roll.
Level 0: (3/-) DC:15(10+0(Spell Level)+5(IntMod))
    [-]Blinding Ray(Bonus spell/Always prepared. Limit 8/day): Causes target within 30ft to be blinded(DC15 Will Save).
    [-]Resistance: Subject gains +1 on saving throws.
    [-]Acid Splash: Orb deals 1d3 acid damage.
    [-]Detect Magic: Detect all spell/magic items within 60 ft.
    [-]Detect Poison: Detect poison in creature/small object.
    [-]Read Magic: Read scroll/spellbook.
    [-]Daze: Humanoid creature with 4 HD or less loses its next action.
    [-]Ghost Sound: Figment sounds.(Bonus spell/Always prepared)
    [-]Mage Hand: 5-pound telekinesis.
    [-]Mending: Make minor repairs.
    [-]Message: Whisper conversation at distance.
    [-]Open/Close: Open/close small or light things.
    [-]Arcane Mark: Inscribes rune on an object or creature.
    [-]Prestidigitation: Performs minor tricks.

Level 1: (3/3) DC:16(10+1(Spell Level)+5(IntMod))
    [-]Charm Person: Makes one person your friend.
    [-]Hypnotism: Fascinates 2d4 HD of creatures.
    [-]Sleep: Puts 4 HD of creatures into magical slumber.
    [-]Color Spray: Knocks unconscious, blinds, and/or stuns weak creatures.
    [-]Disguise Self: Changes your appearance.
    [-]Magic Aura: Alters object’s magic aura.
    [-]Silent Image: Creates minor illusion of your design.
    [-]Ventriloquism: Throws voice for 1 min./level.

Masterwork Quarterstaff, Bedroll, Trail Rations(5), Feed(5), Tent, Waterskin(5), Torch(10), Wizard’s Spellbook, Scholar’s outfit, Hemp Rope(50ft), Pony, Pack Saddle. Pony holds Bed, Feed, Rations, Rope, Torches, Tent, and Water.
^money is dependent on class in this case the wizard started with 120 gold, weight/load capacity is determined by your strength as you can see by the scores its fairly fitting of the earlier real comparisons medium-heavy loads are treated as the equivalent armor class in terms of speed reduction and check penalties. equipment is bought with starting gold at level 1 but in your story its either bought, found, given, or made by the character...your choice if you wish to say. mounts are possible purchases but as a level one its not common for a character to be able to buy one in this persons case she had the left over money to purchase one and it was needed due to the weight of her items and low strength.

Appearance:
Amalinae has long black hair the extends a little past her waist, black eyes, and pale almost doll like complexion. She rarely speaks out of turn and is under normal circumstances almost unnaturally calm. Her voice is always soft with a serious tone. She is always seen carrying a beautifully carved mahogany staff that stands shoulder height, and aside from the arcane carvings it is completely straight and smooth. Her robes are like obsidian, dark with a beautiful shine, wrapped close to her frail, slender frame.
History:
Amalinae was of noble birth in the elven kingdoms, but due their kingdom being overrun by traitorous humans, herself among many other elves were forced to flee or die. Though most of the nobles managed to get away her family was not as fortunate, losing their lives when the humans took over their kingdom. The elves and humans were proposing a peace agreement from a longtime war, on the day all was to be finalized the humans betrayed the elves killing all who were at the meeting and marching on their kingdom slaughtering all in their path. 60 years have passed since then yet she still carries herself high and distrusts most humans never wishing to be in their presence for more then a day. Her calm regal demeanor was worked into her from childhood to adulthood due to noble birth, but the coming of age and rough life of one forced from a longstanding home has changed her, giving her a very serious, almost uncaring, outward appearance, yet tender easily scarred heart. She has used her training in the magical arts of enchantment and illusion to make her way through the world so far, but as more and more time goes on she has been yearning for a companion to support, and mend her weakened heart.
